Frank J. Shamy died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 81.
Frank was born in Perth Amboy and he had lived in North Brunswick all of his life. He was a fireman for the City of New Brunswick and retired in 1963. Frank was the former owner/operator of Shamy's Bar and Grill in New Brunswick and he also was employed at the Twin County Grocers in Edison. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #324, New Brunswick.
Frank is predeceased by his parents Frank J. and Rose (Butros) Shamy; and his brother Thomas Shamy. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy (Balint) Shamy; sons - Frank Shamy (Diane) of Millstone, Kenneth Shamy (Mary) of South Brunswick, Kevin Shamy (Sharon) of Sayreville; his brother Robert Shamy (Debbie) of East Brunswick; grandchildren - Alexandra, Adrian, Casey, Brittany (Giuseppe), Annie, Dylan, Ryan and Brandon; great grandchildren Adelina and Gino; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday August 14, 2017 at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM.
