Fred A. Beisser died Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Elms of Cranbury. He was 79.
Born in New Brunswick to the late Adam and Mary (Nemeth) Beisser, he was raised in North Brunswick and lived there before moving to East Brunswick in 1971. He received his degree in electrical engineering from Monmouth University and worked for Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies in Holmdel for 32 years before retiring in 2001.
He was a charter member of the Christian Fellowship Church of East Brunswick, formerly of North Brunswick, where he served as an officer for 52 years holding the positions of elder, deacon, treasurer and chairman of the Board of Elders.
Mr. Beisser was active in the Boy Scouts of America serving as scoutmaster of Troop 223 in East Brunswick for 14 years. He was lodge advisor for Sakuwit Lodge #2, Order of the Arrow for six years and served on the Central New Jersey Council. He received several awards for scouting including the Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, the Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, Good Shepherd Baptist Religious Award and the 4 Bead Wood Badger.
He was an EMT and life member of the East Brunswick Rescue Squad where he was captain and past president. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of the American Legion Post 1000 and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a benefactor member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years Rita (Siewierski) Beisser; his son Stephen Beisser of East Brunswick; and three granddaughters – Rachel, Mary and Nora Beisser.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Selover Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Christian Fellowship Church, 552 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
