A Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, Dad was most proud of his work on the USS Albacore, an experimental submarine that broke the undersea speed record (only recently declassified). It’s now a museum in dry dock in Portsmouth, NH, and my father is a plank-owner (the first crew of a sub). His name is on a plaque in the mess because he donated his time, money, and expertise to help get the sub towed from its berth in Baltimore to its current and final position. http://ussalbacore.org
