I am so saddened by the loss of Chaim. He was a rigorous scientist with wide-ranging interests and a wonderful and supportive colleague. Even more, I want to recognize his kindness and generosity of spirit. He always had time for people, especially students and colleagues, and most of all, for Daphna and his family. Everyone who knew him will appreciate how he relished discussion, intellectual inquiry and challenge -the true marks of a curious and engaging mind. There was nothing he enjoyed more than debating and discussing a topic, whether about science, politics, Israel, America and the state of the world. I always enjoyed sitting with him on the bench outside Foran Hall and talking with him, hoping to catch a little bit of ‘Chaim wisdom’. Most of all, I will miss his worldview and his great sense of humor, which he imparted to all who interacted with him. I will miss you Chaim. Go in peace.
