Mariano F. "Marty" Pinizzotto died Saturday, December 17, 2022, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 100.
Born in St. Benedict, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Mary (Filoramo) Pinizzotto, he lived in North Brunswick before moving to South Bound Brook over 40 years ago. He was owner of Pinizzotto Trucking Company in North Brunswick for over 50 years before his retirement. He played guitar in the Army band and professionally in the New Brunswick area.
Mr. Pinizzotto served in the United States Army during World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was a member of the American Legion, Joyce Kilmer Post #25 in Milltown.
He was an avid golfer and a tinkerer. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family, the most important part of his life.
He was predeceased by his brother Joseph P. Pinizzotto, Jr.; two sisters – Santa Molnar and Rose Toth; and two nephews – Michael Pinizotto and Joseph G. Pinizzotto. Surviving are his wife Rose (Ottavi) Pinizzotto; two stepsons – Perry Sacca of Edison and Vincent Sacca of North Haledon; his grandson Anthony Sacca; his sister Katie Severino of Ormond Beach, Florida; his brother Anthony Pinizzotto of North Brunswick; and 13 nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
