We are honored & blessed to have known & loved Phil for a number of years (but not enough!). A great neighbor & wonderful friend. Always had a smile on his face. Always ready to help anyone in need. A true gentleman. We already miss you dearly, Phil! God bless, rest in peace, and thank you for your service, dear friend!
Much love from John & Kay Bradshaw (& our Beagle, Jake, who loved Phil dearly). XO

We not only lost a neighbor this week but we lost a dear friend. As a young couple with a small child, Phil, along with his wife Janet, welcomed us into the neighborhood with open arms. They were the epitome of what good neighbors should be. Whether it was fixing our dvd, taking in our mail, driving us to the train station or getting some obscure object we needed from his garage (oh that garage!), he was always there. During a snowstorm he was the first one out there clearing our driveways since he was the only one with a snowblower! (Two weeks ago he was still talking about getting his snowblower ready!!). Afterward we would have Janet’s soup and sandwiches. It was then, that Phil taught Joanne’s husband and mine the fine art of mixing and drinking manhattans! A tradition was born!
We will miss him terribly but how lucky were we to have known him. Thank you for your service to our country and your unending friendship. Rest easy!
❤️Debbie and John

Sorry to hear this news.Phil was a great friend and a true shipmate He was a key member in creating the USS Goodrich Assoc. He helped launch it and contributed to its success attending many of it"s Reunions. He provided shirts hats jackets for the Association members. He was only a phone call away if you needed any help or just be a listening board. He will surely be missed by all who have known him and had the privilege of calling him a friend.

Yesterday I lost a neighbor, but not only a neighbor…..Phil was a father figure to my husband and and I , a grandfather figure to my children, when we had none , a handy man when I needed , and a dear, dear friend. He welcomed us when we moved into our house ,like a long lost friend. If you needed something , Phil would say “wait a minute, let me look” and sure enough he would have that obscure screw or whatever you needed. We developed a yearly tradition of having a neighborhood tree lighting on his beautiful pine tree. One year, as the tree was getting too tall, he asked the fire dept. to come with the bucket truck and help him get the lights to the top. The memories are so precious that I have of him and I will never forget his gentleness and kindness . Rest easy sailor ❤️ Joanne
