Obituary of Matthew C. Salerno

Matthew C. Salerno died Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was 69. Born in Aspra, Sicily, Italy to the late Domenico and Calogera "Carolina" (Prinzivalli) Salerno, he lived in North Brunswick for most of his life. He was an architect in New York City for over 40 years. He was an assistant vice president, senior project manager and senior architect for WSP USA Solutions, Inc. in New York where he worked for over 15 years. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects with an LEED accreditation and was licensed in 13 states. Surviving are his wife Rosanna (Rao) Salerno; his daughter Caroline Ann Salerno and her husband Massimiliano Meroni of Milan, Italy; his granddaughter Alice Meroni; his sister Maria M. LaPunta of Delaware; his nephew Andrew LaPunta; and his niece Jennifer LaPunta. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Thursday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Augustine of Canterbury R.C. Church, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
