Obituary of Anthony S. Nastus
Anthony S. Nastus, 72 of Ortley Beach, New Jersey, passed away at his home on November 10, 2023. Prior to relocating to Ortley Beach, Anthony was a resident of North Brunswick, New Jersey, for more than 60 years. He attended and graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1969.
Anthony was a Master Plumber and co-owned Nastus Brothers Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After 40+ years in the industry, Anthony retired in 2020.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Anthony best enjoyed spending time at his home with his family and five grandchildren. He loved to cook and was most comfortable at the grill or stove serving up delicious meals for his family and friends to enjoy at dinner parties. He was a member of the Italian-American Club in North Brunswick, NJ. In 2009 he was acknowledged, along with his brothers, as the Grand Marshalls at the North Brunswick Township’s 230th celebration Columbus Day Ball and parade for contributions to the township. Anthony coached soccer for the North Brunswick Recreation Soccer League and enjoyed an occasional round of golf.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Rosaria (Sarah) Nastus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Margaret (Witt) Nastus. His sons, Anthony S. Nastus, Jr. and his wife Page of Nantucket, MA; James B. Nastus of Washington, D.C.; Michael T. Nastus and his wife Domenica of Jersey City, New Jersey and his daughter, Christina M. Cease and her wife Ashley of Belle Mead, New Jersey. His sister Roseann Dashevsky of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey; and brothers, Carmen Nastus of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey; Ronald Nastus of Kendall Park, New Jersey and five loving grandchildren, Martha Page, Grayson, Amelia, Luca and Stella.
Services are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home in North Brunswick. Due to renovations, visiting will take place at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset on Wednesday November 15, 2023 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will begin on Thursday November 16 at Gleason Funeral Home at 10 AM followed by an 11 AM funeral mass at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church 470 Ryders Lane in East Brunswick. Committal services will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in East Brunswick.
