Veronica Dubil Zawadsky died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Toano, Virginia. She was 87. Born in Sayreville, she lived in Milltown before moving to North Brunswick 50 years ago.Mrs. Zawadsky worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America. A communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in Milltown, she was also a member of AARP and the North Brunswick Senior Citizens Club.Mrs. Zawadsky loved to cook, decorate her home and garden, and was very creative in flower arranging. She and her beloved husband won first place awards over a period of three years for Christmas decorations in Milltown. She loved to write and would compose beautiful verses in personal cards to her daughter, grandchildren and relatives. She always had a kind word and smile for everyone. She was the heart of her family and represented the best in all of them.Her husband, James W. Zawadsky, died in 1984. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Linda and John J. Rice of Toano, VA; two brothers - Walter Dubil of Parlin and Michael Dubil of Sayreville, a sister - Florence Bistak of Spring Hill, FL; two grandsons - John C. Rice and his wife Meghan of Atlanta, GA and James E. Rice of Washington DC; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18th. Friends and relatives may call at the at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick on Monday morning from 9:00 AM to10:30 AM followed by an 11:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Milltown. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
